Driver Requirements

These are the minimum DMSCC driver qualification requirements. The decision as to whether a driver can be qualified based on his/her criminal record will be made by Dallas Mavis at its sole discretion and on a case-by-case basis.

• 23 years of age or older
• 1 year of verifiable Over the Road (OTR) experience within the last three years or 3 years of verifiable OTR experience within the last 10 years operating the same type of equipment that will be used under Dallas Mavis authority.
• Possession of a valid commercial driver€™s license €“ (Class A CDL)
• No suspensions or revocations of more than 30 days for moving violations within the 36 months prior to the start date.
• No record of a DUI in a personal vehicle within the 36 months prior to the start date.
• No record of a DUI ever in a commercial vehicle.
• No more than 4 moving violations within the prior 36 months
• No more than 2 preventable accidents within the prior 36 months
• No more than 2 preventable accidents and 2 moving violations within the prior 36 months
• No more than 1 preventable accident and 3 moving violations within the prior 36 months.
• Able to pass D.O.T. physical and Drug Screen
• Never tested positive for drug or alcohol use while working for previous employers or lease carriers
• No record of refusal to take a drug or alcohol test provided for by implied consent or similar law.

  Tandem/Sleeper - Prefer equipment not to be over 10 years old and must pass company inspection.
• Trailer
  A. Flatbeds or Flatbeds with sides
  B. Drop Decks or Lowboys
  C. 53' Vans
• Accessorial Equipment
  A. Headache Rack
  B. 10 chains - 3.8'' Test - 16' long
  C. 3 20' x 20' tarps or equivalent
  D. 8 coil racks
  E. minimum 10 edge protectors
  F. 8 straps/winches
• Safety Equipment
  A. Fire Extinguishers
  B. Reflectors
• Notice
  Reflective tape along sides and rear of trailer is MANDATORY.
• Nationwide pagers are required.

Note - Company policy requires a periodic inspection at no cost when it is completed by a qualified company inspection station.
